Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY:  The Maintenance Technician will perform all duties, as directed, with regard to installation, maintenance, and repair functions of all hospital buildings, equipment and grounds.

ESSENTIAL TASKS/DUTIES: (This list is a succinct summary of core duties only. Other tasks will be assigned) 

1. Installs, repairs, maintains and removes all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration equipment and systems.
2. Assembles and disassembles equipment.
3. Performs preventative maintenance.
4. Engages in carpentry, construction, maintenance, paint, and repairs to buildings, structures, walls, ceilings, floors, doors, partitions, and cabinets.
5. Works within safety guidelines and infection control procedures.
6. Takes call as scheduled and reports within a timely manner (not to exceed 30 minutes).
7. Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have a current valid TX driver’s license.
2. High School diploma or equivalent.
3. Good working knowledge of mechanics, electrical equipment, plumbing, carpentry, and air conditioning/heating equipment.
4. Must demonstrate the ability and willingness to comply with verbal and written instructions.
5. Duties require intermittent walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, pulling, bending, stooping and reaching to perform tasks and be able to safely lift as much as 50 pounds, and to push/pull mobile loads weighing as much as 300 pounds.
