JOB TITLE:               Clinic Medical Assistant / LVN

REPORTS TO:          COO

JOB SUMMARY:    Under the direction of the physician, the Medical Assistant will provide a variety of duties for the purpose of ensuring that the needs of the patients are met. 

ESSENTIAL TASKS/DUTIES: (This list is a succinct summary of core duties only. Other tasks will be assigned)

1. Provides proper pre-examination evaluation of the patient, including current vital signs and medical history.
2. Assists physician during examinations as directed.
3. Assists in medical procedures as directed, and within the scope of training and established regulatory practice.
4. Assures that all documentation regarding patient care is complete and accurate.
5. Serves as liaison between the physician and the patient.
6. Other duties as assigned.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have and maintain a current or Licensed Vocational Nurse license issued by the State of Texas.
2. Must obtain CME’s required to keep license current.
3. Must have and maintain a current CPR certification.
4. Must demonstrate the ability to engage in effective verbal and written communication.
5. Duties require intermittent walking, sitting, standing, pulling, bending, stooping and reaching to perform tasks and be able to lift objects that may weigh as much as 50 lbs.
